David Adams
Dave is CEO of the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates and also provides management services for HR Value Group and League InfoSight. During his credit union career, Dave has held numerous board seats and committee assignments. A native of Utah, he holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Utah and a master's in business administration from Utah State University.


Lisa Carver
Lisa is the President of Moxie Consulting, Inc. a human resources consulting firm located in Little Rock, Arkansas, and has worked with Kimberly Clark, PepsiCo and Hewlett Packard. She holds a bachelor's of art degree from the University of Central AR and earned her master's of arts from Texas Woman’s University. She recently completed a year of law school at the UALR Bowen School of Law.


Frank J. Diekmann
Frank is publisher and co-founder of Credit Union Journal, the nation’s leading newsweekly serving the credit union community since 1997. Prior to this he co-founded and developed Credit Union Times. He has been a frequent judge of credit union marketing competitions and a frequent speaker to credit union audiences. He possesses a National Credit Union Foundation’s development educator designation.

 Brent Dixon
Brent has partnered with the Filene Research Institute to present, advise and complete project work with credit unions based on young adult research. He is a leading thinker, speaker and doer in the areas of young adult outreach, creativity, design and user experience. Brent has been cited in and written for numerous industry publications and is a contributing author to The Age of Conversation 2.

Franklin Drake
Frank has been a partner in the Raleigh, North Carolina law firm of Smith Debnam Narron Drake Saintsing & Myers since 1994, following a sixteen year practice specializing in creditor's rights, bankruptcy and repossession law in Louisville, Kentucky. For the last 25 years, he has lectured frequently and especially enjoys guiding his clients around compliance pitfalls.

Stephen J. Dubner
An award-winning author, journalist, and radio and TV personality, Stephen is the co-author of the international bestseller FREAKONOMICS and SUPERFREAKONOMICS. Eric Dusenbury
Eric is business development representative with MSHDA Homeownership Division and has been covering Southeast Michigan since January 2009. He has over 20 years experience in the mortgage industry and has held positions in both retail and wholesale sales, as well as in management and project management in the mortgage area dealing with the analysis and implementation of products.


Bert Ely
Bert has specialized in deposit insurance and banking structure issues since 1981. He established a consulting practice in 1972 and was previously a chief financial officer, a consultant with Touche, Ross & Company and an auditor with Ernst & Ernst. He received his master's of business administration from the Harvard Business School and his bachelor's in economics from Case Western Reserve University.


James Fournier
Jim is executive vice president/COO for The Salus Group, a Michigan-based CUSO owned by several credit unions and the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates. He was previously with MCUL & Affiliates managing The CUCare® Group and was COO of HRValue Group. Jim has a bachelor’s degree from Spring Arbor University and is a licensed insurance agent in the state of Michigan.

Dr. Lawadna Gladney

Kenneth W. Gronbach
Ken is an expert demographer, generational marketer and nationally known authority with proven success in creating value, leading companies and planning for the future with uncanny accuracy. He is a marketing guru who regularly provides counsel to Fortune 500 companies. He has authored several books and has been a favorite speaker at past MCUL & Affiliates events.


Eric Hanna
Eric is a Capital Services associate with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and was previously an analyst for Michigan’s largest business tax credit program, the Michigan Economic Growth Authority, and was the lead administrator on the Michigan NextEnergy Authority Tax Incentive program. Eric co-authored and administers the Michigan Supplier Diversification Fund.


Mary-Lou Heighes

Mary-Lou is president of Compliance Plus, Inc. and has been a featured speaker for E-Commerce regulations at CUNA’s Regulatory Compliance School, Specialized Compliance Institute, E-Commerce and E-Lending Schools. She has plenty of credit union experience and presented the Regulatory Compliance Update seminar for the five years for the California Credit Union League.

Charles Holzman
Chuck is the managing partner of Holzman, Ritter & Corkery, PLLC, located in Southfield, Michigan, a full service credit union law firm that represents over 200 state and federally chartered credit unions, and which is a member of the MCUL & Affiliates Law Firm Referral Program. Chuck earned a bachelor's degree from Oakland University and his juris doctorate from Michigan State University.


Anthony Huey
Anthony has years of experience in editorial management, media relations, marketing communications and business strategy. His career includes tenures as a news reporter and editor, crisis management specialist and media relations consultant. Anthony owns and operates Reputation Management Associates, one of the nation’s leading communications training and crisis consulting companies.


Dr. Paul Isely
Paul is an associate professor and chair of the economics department in the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University. He joined the GVSU faculty in 1995, after earning his Ph.D. in economics from Purdue University. He also holds an master's in economics from Purdue University and a dual bachelor's in physics and economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


Ann Jones
Ann leads CU Solution Group’s Marketing Solutions. With nearly two decades of marketing and advertising experience, she is fluent in promoting and enhancing the image, interests and goals of credit unions with an emphasis on marketing strategy. Ann holds a bachelor's and master's degree in advertising from Michigan State University and a Certified Meeting Professional designation.


Larry Keen
Larry leads the financial institutions practice for LarsonAllen Search, LLC. a traditional retained consulting service group of LarsonAllen, LLP. Larry is beginning his 6th year with LarsonAllen and has led regional and national financial services searches for the past 10 years, including a tenure as a national recruiter and trainer with Wells Fargo & Company. His career began with a 20 year tenure at Deluxe Corporation/Deluxe Check Printers serving in operations and supply chain management roles.

John Kolhoff
John has worked for the Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation since 1994.  He has held various positions gaining extensive experience in depository institution analysis, information technology, as well as the risk-based examination process. As assistant director of the credit union division, John is responsible for supervision of the credit union safety and soundness examinations for 212 state-chartered credit unions and information technology examinations for all state-chartered credit unions and banks.

Steve Kutrubis
Steve has been involved with indirect lending for the past 17 years. Prior to joining CU Direct Corp in 2010, he was the vice president of Indirect Lending at the Arizona Credit Union League since 2003 and has held various positions within financial institutions and auto dealerships since 1994.



Tom Leduc
Tom is a well-known attorney and owner of The Leduc Group, LLC, in Dearborn, Michigan, specializing in financial institution regulatory compliance. He has lectured and written on a wide range of topics, including federal consumer protection, regulatory compliance and bankruptcy law, and has authored publications for CUNA. He has previously served with the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates.


David Lorenz
David is the manager of public and industry relations for Travel Michigan, a division of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation which promotes tourism for the state of Michigan. He also manages Travel Michigan's efforts in the areas of international marketing, packaged travel, conventions and meetings, industry relations, golf and sports-event promotion. Prior to coming to Travel Michigan,
David was the manager of partnerships and promotions for Meijer, Inc.

Gene Mandarino
Gene has been HRN’s organizational development manager and senior HR consultant since 2002. He possesses more than 15 years experience in organizational development, designing and initiating training and organizational development programs, and analyzing compensation programs across a wide spectrum of businesses. He previously worked for Arthur Andersen’s professional education division.  

Michael Moebs
Michael is founder, chairman and CEO of Moebs $ervices, Inc. and provides leading banks, credit unions and savings institutions with market-driven research, analysis and tools to enhance business performance. He holds a master's of business administration in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago and studied under Nobel laureates Milton Friedman and George Stigler.


John Moreno
John is an executive benefits specialist for CUNA Mutual Group and serves credit unions in the Midwest and Northeast. He started in the financial services industry in 1998. He attended the United States Air Force Academy and studied finance at the University of Arizona. He is a sought-after speaker at credit union-focused events and has contributed to the trade press numerous times on financial topics.


Michael Moyes
Michael was president/CEO of Salt Lake Credit Union and became senior vice president of operations following the credit union's merger with Mountain America Credit Union in 2008. He has an outstanding track record with providing outstanding member service and employee satisfaction. He possesses a bachelor's degree from Weber State University and a master's degree from the University of Phoenix.


David Nichols
Daivd is a consumer access analyst with the Division of Consumer Access in NCUA’s Office of Consumer Protection (OCP). His work includes reviewing federal credit union applications for field of membership expansions, underserved areas, community conversions/expansions, bylaw amendments, low-income designations and charter conversions. Prior to working for NCUA, David worked for the Virginia Credit Union League as a credit union auditor and field consultant.

Lisa Rizk
Lisa is vice president of member enhancements & sales for CU Solutions Group managing national sales and marketing activities for various divisions, partners and products, and working closely with CUcorp’s business partners. She possesses over 20 years of experience in the credit union industry and a master's of business administration from Davenport University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Central Michigan University.

Don Reef
Don a national account manager with Sprint, having started his career in communication technology with Motorola in 1978. He now helps manage the CUcorp / Sprint credit union program which has grown to include 1.1 million users. Don appreciates the great partnership that he has helped develop across credit unions of all sizes, as well as Sprint’s employees and partners. 


Jeff Rendel
Jeff brings a wealth of education, knowledge and experience to the platform with experience as a federal regulator, financial executive and Congressional lobbyist. He is currently president of Rising Above Enterprises and works with associations that want more loyal, dues-paying members and with professionals who want greater professional growth.


Rory Rowland
Rory is known as “The Top 100 Guy” by presenting high energy, fun and entertaining sessions based on real-life examples. Rory has been the president of two credit unions. He possesses a master's of business administration in finance from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and a bachelor's of science degree in economics from CMSU. He is based in Independence, Missouri.


Brandon Trenz
Brandon is the vice president of product development for CU Solutions Group. He has over 15 years of product management and product development experience, including work with Websites, online HR management solutions and smartphone apps. Brandon says he loves his iPhone very, very deeply.


 
Beth Troost
Beth is the financial education coordinator for the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates. She helps to coordinate state-wide initiatives for financial education and provides free assistance and resource referrals to individual credit unions wishing to participate in or highlight financial education activities.



William Walby
Bill has been the chief executive officer of CenCorp since 2000, having worked with the organization since 1990 in other various positions ranging from controller to chief operating officer. Prior to working for CenCorp, Bill was the CFO of Central Holding Company. He received his bachelor's of business admininstration in accounting from the University of Detroit-Mercy.
