SUBJECT: 2009 GRAND RAFFLE NOTICE

The AC&E has traditionally marked the official start of the MCULLAF (Federal PAC) Grand Raffle. However, since the AC&E is held later this year in July, the kick off for the 2009 Grand Raffle will be held in conjunction with the MCUL GAC April 29^th and 30^th. As always, the winner will have a choice between the car or $20,000, and the seller of the winning ticket will receive $500. This year the MCUL Board of Trustees has approved a 2009 Dodge Challenger as the grand prize. The drawing will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. 

In 2008 for the second straight year all 30,000 tickets were distributed and a new record of $128,575 was raised – beating the previous record by over $4,000! Due to this continued success, the goal this year has been raised to distribute and sell all 35,000 tickets and raise $175,000 – more than half of our 2009 MCULLAF goal! The Grand Raffle is an essential part of our PAC fundraising efforts and your credit union's participation in this MCULLAF fundraising program is key to ensuring that credit unions have a strong voice in Washington, D.C.

One of the secrets to success of selling Grand Raffle tickets is making arrangements with local dealers to park the grand prize car in front of the credit union with a sign that reads, “Win Me!”. Now is the time to contact a Dodge dealer near you to make the arrangements and increase your ticket sales! 

Please take a moment to read the Grand Raffle Rules and Participation Form closely. To participate in the 2009 Grand Raffle, complete the information on the attached form and return it to the MCUL.

In addition to the raffle tickets, participants will receive further information on Grand Raffle accountability procedures, as well as posters to display in the lobby of their credit union branches promoting the sale of Grand Raffle tickets. You will be kept informed of any raffle information over the next several months.
